So Long, Tucker Carlson

Yes, Tucker Carlson, he of the bow tie, low ratings and odious personality, has finally gotten the ax from MSNBC, and it's long past due.  The lovely and talented Carlson is being replaced with a show featuring David Gregory, called Race for the White House. There's no real word yet on the format of Gregory's show, but that title sounds suspiciously temporary.

Unfortunately, MSNBC cancelled Tucker's show and not Tucker himself.  He'll be hanging around spewing his noisome thoughts as a contributor.

NEW YORK -- The bow tie is out at MNSBC. David Gregory is replacing Tucker Carlson as host of a one-hour show each evening.

The news network is making a handful of changes to respond to heavy political interest. Gregory's new show is called "Race for the White House" and will be on each weekday at 6 p.m. starting next Monday.

Additionally, MSNBC is giving Andrea Mitchell a show in the early afternoon, and Dan Abrams show is being relaunched as "Verdict with Dan Abrams".  All of these changes will take effect on March 17.

Tucker, I won't miss you at all.

I'll miss that show.  I don't agree with him on much, but I enjoyed it, anyway.

Tucker (none / 0)

He sometimes stumbles upon the truth, like this one about how CORRUPT THE AMERICAN PRESS is:

That article was amazing-- that (none / 0)

shows why Tucker needed to go.

He was condescending (told the British person that their journalistic standards were low) he was wrong (when the journalist said to him, if this is the first comment that got a campaign in trouble that's been revealed you Americans aren't doing your job----soooo right.  They aren't), and he was a stupid jerk about it.

Although, the Jon Stewart phraseology will always be the best word for him.

Tucker, did do one thing right though.  He interviewed Sean Willentz about what we're seeing again-- Obama's racial politics with an eye towards the South.  Other than that, good by douchie.

I found him very boring.  i'm not surprised that his show doesn't have good rating.

I think Ask MSNBC (2.00 / 2)

to have ONE show that is critical of Obama-- they have Hardball, Scarborough, Olbermann and Russert to skewer Clinton daily and on Sunday to boot.  Overall, it's almost all day of Clinton skewering.

If their new gig is the Race to the WhiteHouse -- let's ask for one show to be critical of Obama!  The world is ready for one corner of t.v. to do that, and the Love Obama Media is already too crowded.  In the interest of ratings, they'd be crazy not to rush to this gold mine!

Re: So Long, Tucker Carlson (2.00 / 2)

I only ever saw Tucker once where I liked him.  It was when he was on Crossfire and he had said he would eat his shoe if Hillary's book sold well.  Of course, her book sold really, really, really well so Hillary brought a shoe-shaped cake to the program for Tucker to eat.  He didn't deserve the charm that she showed that day.  She was splendid as usual.

I hear they are giving David Shuster a show called beating on Hillary. Its a weekly hour of insults lies and propaganda against the Clinton Family.
